to see the light changing

an eighty year old woman telling me that humor
is the key and how she and her husband wake up
and say i’m still here, are you?
we weave ourselves into each other

arms around shoulders, arms around waists
singing through the sunset to those
no longer alive on this planet
singing them here
to see the light changing
with us
the young fox as seen in the

in its patch of grass where it watches then lowers and curls up
from the water world:
