curve and shine

january group to the doodlie doos, come in doodles i say
9am into the walkie talkies connecting
the river house to the barn
_______

the honk-squawk of one of the two geese
at the pond-edge as i step out
into the sunny/clear day
on the longest porch
that looks out into the curve and shine
of the little river
_______

for a person whose memory is
self-proclaimed sieve-like
i am surprised/impressed when tyler mentions
the spring-sproingy bird
_______
chasing the sun in its last hours
one level up (of the huge formations
in the foresty hill)
as i perch in its light
reading the book long division
which i cannot put down
