like a secret society

i already framed mine
reports the woman from yesterday

who asked for a poem about her yorkie
_______

wherein ty and i get giddy
on day three
joking about resopnding to questions like:
what is sorghum
with responses like:
hell if i know
or where is your farm located
you tell me
_______

like a secret society i say to honna
when i tell her about how some of my ‘clients’,
when they see me at the typewriter, say
oh, just like the poems-while-you-wait guy in new york
or oh, i got a poem from someone like this in louisville
_______

F explains at the gelato place, how we like to laugh
a lot at anything that is shouted
and tonight it happens to be:
THANK YOU – BUT NO THANK YOU!
