in another dream
that body-heavy lead feeling
attempting to talk to the store clerk
and succeeding
but with underwater movements
and eyes that refused
to stay open
while i explained

in nap position)
how the knife became
entangled in the belt-loop keychain
which is how the lunch crumbs and smears
below the counter came to be
_______

from the edge of wake/sleep more often
i joke with trish

fighting a creature
called sickness
