the work of weaving

in the middle of the gravel road
i sit with gibbus
dust-bathing
and curling up
under the bridge of my legs

trish and i sing the praises
of the luffas
vining/crawling up the trellises
tied up for them in the hoop house

emory and tyler perched on
lookfar porch
serenading with balloon squeaks
that travel across the fields

the work of weaving tomatoes
into the trellises tied up for them
caking my arms/hands/fingers and
parts of my knees/legs
green

crop duster (blue and white)
zip-droning back and forth overhead
to the west and north

whereupon i confuse
once again
robin williams and tom hanks

the banana chips, one of whose ingredients
